To put AI fashion photos on WooCommerce or Shopify, download the finished shots from Vastralook, export one size for the whole collection (2K is a good default), name each file for the product and angle, add plain alt text, and upload with the front on-model shot first. There is no plugin.
Our guide to Shopify fashion product photography covers the shot sequence and mobile ratios. This post does not repeat it. It covers what that guide leaves out: getting the images out of Vastralook, the file and alt-text habits that keep a catalogue tidy, and the differences between uploading to Shopify and to WooCommerce.
Be clear about what is and is not connected
We checked: there is no Shopify, WooCommerce or marketplace connection in Vastralook. No app, no plugin, no product feed, no automatic upload. That keeps things simple. You get image files, and you decide where each one goes.
Step 1: export AI fashion photos from Vastralook
- Finished shots are in the Orders tab. Each one can be downloaded on its own, and a finished order can be downloaded as a set.
- Choose the output format when you order: the marketplace presets use JPEG, and the studio also offers PNG.
- Download at the size you will use. A 3:4 shot at 2K is about 1792 × 2400 pixels and at 4K about 3584 × 4800, measured from finished shots. A 1K shot is about 896 × 1200.
Step 2: name and describe each image
A file called final-2.jpg tells a search engine and your own team nothing. A short, plain name does.
| Image | File name | Alt text |
|---|---|---|
| Front, on model | red-bandhani-saree-front.jpg | Red bandhani saree worn by a model, front view |
| Back view | red-bandhani-saree-back.jpg | Back of a red bandhani saree on a model, blouse and pallu visible |
| Fabric detail | red-bandhani-saree-detail.jpg | Close-up of the bandhani dots and gold border |
- File name: product, colour or print, then angle, in lower case with hyphens.
- Alt text: say what is in the picture, in one sentence, for someone who cannot see it.
- Do not repeat the same alt text on every image of a product.
- Do not say 'AI image' in the alt text unless you want to; say it in the listing instead.
Where to put AI fashion photos on Shopify and WooCommerce
| Shopify | WooCommerce | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Product page, Media section | Product image and Product gallery boxes on the product edit screen |
| Which is the main photo | The first image in the media list | The Product image; the others go in the gallery |
| Alt text | Added per image in the media editor | Added in the media library for each image |
| Sizes | Shopify resizes for you; limits are on its help page | WordPress makes several sizes; your theme sets which is shown |
- 1. Front on-model shot first
This is the one shown in collection grids and search results.
- 2. Back, then side
Shoppers look for the back of a blouse or the fall of a pallu before they buy.
- 3. A fabric close-up
It answers the quality question a photo cannot answer by itself.
- 4. A lifestyle shot last
It adds feeling after the facts are given.
WooCommerce: one thing to watch
WooCommerce runs on WordPress, and WordPress creates smaller copies of each upload. If your theme shows a cropped thumbnail, the crop is the theme's, not the image's. Upload a 3:4 photo and look at the collection page on a phone; if the garment is cut off, change the theme's thumbnail ratio instead of re-making the images.
What you can do in bulk
A large catalogue is a naming job as much as a photo job. Keep one spreadsheet row per product with its file names and alt text, and fill it as you download. Both Shopify and WooCommerce can import products and images from a CSV file in their admin; check your platform's help page for the exact columns. A Create order costs ₹8–₹10 per 1K shot and is usually ready in 3–4 minutes, so the photos are rarely the slow part of a launch.
Is there a Vastralook plugin for WooCommerce or Shopify?
No. There is no plugin, app or automatic upload. You download the images from the Orders tab and upload them in your store.
What size should I export for a Shopify or WooCommerce store?
For a 3:4 portrait, 2K is about 1792 × 2400 pixels and is a good default. 4K is about 3584 × 4800 and suits a hero shot where buyers zoom. Store limits are on your platform's help page.
Should I say the model photo is AI-generated?
That is your decision and may depend on the platform and the law where you sell. Check the current rules for your channel. Keeping a real photo of the garment next to the on-model shot protects the buyer's trust.
Do I need to write alt text for every image?
It is good practice, and it helps people who use screen readers. Describe what the picture shows in a plain sentence and avoid repeating the same text on every image.
Should I use JPEG or PNG for fashion product photos?
The marketplace presets in Vastralook use JPEG, and the studio also offers PNG. JPEG files are smaller and load faster on a store page; PNG is larger. Use JPEG unless you need PNG for a specific reason.
Can I bulk upload fashion product images to Shopify or WooCommerce?
Both can import products and image links from a CSV file in their admin. Check your platform's help page for the exact columns. Vastralook does not generate the CSV for you.
Does WordPress shrink my WooCommerce product images?
WordPress creates several smaller copies of each upload, and your theme chooses which one to show. If a thumbnail looks cropped, the crop comes from the theme settings, not from the image.
