To make a saree catalogue, photograph each saree flat in daylight, upload it to Vastralook's Drape Studio, set the cut and the pallu line, and order the draped model pictures. Add kurtis or other garments in Catalogue Studio if your range has them, then download the pictures and share them.
What a saree catalogue needs
A saree catalogue is a set of pictures a buyer can scroll: each saree on a model, with enough detail to judge the border and pallu, and a name or design number so they can ask for it. The same pictures work for a WhatsApp album, a marketplace listing and an Instagram post.
- A front view that shows the whole saree on a model.
- A pallu or back view, because buyers look for it.
- A close view of the border, zari or print.
- True colour: the picture must match the saree in daylight.
- A design number or name you can use when buyers ask.
How to make a saree catalogue, step by step
- 1. Photograph each saree
Lay the saree flat and shoot square-on in daylight, filling the frame, with the pallu in the photo. Avoid flash and filters. If the cloth lies crooked, the print will be crooked in every picture.
- 2. Upload it to Drape Studio
Open Drape Studio and add the saree photo. The studio finds the cloth. Adjust the cut with a pin on each corner, or trace round the cloth with the lasso if it is not a neat rectangle.
- 3. Mark the pallu line
Draw the line where the body ends and the pallu begins, and say which end of your photo holds the pallu. Optionally mark one repeat of the body pattern.
- 4. Add blouse fabric, or skip it
If you have a blouse fabric, upload a tight photo of it. If not, leave the slot empty and the blouse is made from your saree.
- 5. Press Use this cut and pick your poses
You see the saree draped on the model. Choose the poses you want for the catalogue.
- 6. Place the order
Choose Instant (1–2 min), Standard (3–4 min, 2K) or Budget (5–10 min). The price shows on each button.
- 7. Repeat for the next saree
Each saree is set up the same way: photo, cut, pallu line, poses, order.
Adding the rest of your range in Catalogue Studio
If your catalogue also has kurtis, suits or dresses, make those in Catalogue Studio, because it is the studio for every garment except sarees and lehengas. Upload a flat or hung photo of each piece, pick the models and styles, check the batch summary and order. The pictures end up in the same account as your sarees.
Checking, downloading and sharing the pictures
Open the Orders tab of each studio. Finished shots appear as pictures, and Download all saves a whole order. Compare each picture with the real saree in daylight, looking at colour, border and pallu. If a shot misses, recreate it, or ask for half the credits back on a finished shot that missed.
- Export shot gives you the plain picture. Export with logo adds your logo, which suits Instagram and WhatsApp where the picture travels without your name.
- Use the marketplace presets when you export for a listing, and read the platform's rules again for the one you care most about.
- Vastralook does not build a catalogue link or PDF for you. Put the downloaded pictures in a WhatsApp album, a post, a listing or a PDF made in another tool.
How do I make a saree catalogue?
Photograph each saree in daylight, upload it to Drape Studio, set the cut and pallu line, order the draped pictures and download them. Add other garments in Catalogue Studio if your range has them.
Can I make a saree catalogue with my phone photos?
Yes. A clean, square-on phone photo of the saree in daylight is what Drape Studio works from.
Do I need a model for a saree catalogue?
No. You choose a model in the studio, and the saree is draped on it. You only photograph the cloth.
Does Vastralook make a PDF saree catalogue?
No. It makes the pictures, which you download. Put them in a WhatsApp album, a post, a listing or a PDF made with another tool.
Can I put sarees and kurtis in one catalogue?
Yes. Make the sarees in Drape Studio and the kurtis in Catalogue Studio, then download both sets from their Orders tabs.
How long does it take to make a saree catalogue?
Each order takes about 1–2 min on Instant, 3–4 min on Standard or 5–10 min on Budget. Setting up each saree takes a few minutes the first time.
What if the pallu looks wrong?
Check the pallu line and which end of the photo holds the pallu, adjust them and recreate the shot. Our pallu line guide covers the common causes.
