Skin tone and body diversity in Indian fashion catalogues starts with a simple idea: shoppers buy more easily when they can picture the garment on someone like them. In Vastralook's Models tab you can filter by region, age, skin tone and body type, then choose a spread that fits your buyers.
Why model choice matters for an Indian catalogue
A colour that looks warm on one skin tone can look different on another, and a cut that looks one way on one build looks another way on a different one. Showing more than one model gives the buyer more information, not just a more varied look.
What the Models tab lets you filter by
| Filter | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Region | Narrows models by region | Match the region your buyers are in |
| Age | Narrows models by age group | Choose an age that suits the garment and buyer |
| Skin tone | Narrows models by skin tone | Show colour on more than one skin tone |
| Body type | Narrows models by body type | Show fit across the range of sizes you sell |
Building a set without overspending
- 1. Decide who buys
Look at your orders and enquiries: which regions, ages and sizes?
- 2. Choose two to four models
Use the filters to cover the range, rather than adding every model.
- 3. Test on one garment
Check how colour and fit read on each model before running the whole batch.
- 4. Check the total
Garments x models x styles is the shot count. A Standard 2K shot is 10 credits, roughly ₹10–₹13 depending on your pack.
Can I choose models by skin tone in Vastralook?
Yes. The Models tab has a skin tone filter, alongside region, age and body type filters.
How many models should a catalogue use?
Two to four is a sensible start for most sellers. Each model multiplies the shot count, so pick a few that cover your buyers.
Why use more than one model for the same garment?
It shows how colour and fit read on different skin tones and builds, which helps buyers decide.
Can I filter models by body type?
Yes, the Models tab includes a body type filter.
Does using more models cost more?
Yes. Shots are garments x models x styles, so each model added increases the total. Check the Summary tab before you pay.
