Photoroom's API alone handles over three million images a day for companies like Decathlon, Depop and Mercari, by its own account. If you search for a Photoroom alternative, it is rarely because Photoroom is bad. It is usually because the photo you need is not a cleaner photo of the product — it is a person wearing it, and for Indian ethnic wear that is a different job.

What Photoroom does well
Photoroom's core tools — background remover, retouch, AI shadows, product fixer, AI fill, expand and image enhancer — are included on every paid plan without spending credits. Batch editing and a Shopify integration (from the Max plan) make it fast for a catalogue of hundreds of products. For shoes, bags, cosmetics or home goods, that breadth is hard to beat.
It also has AI Fashion Models. Its own credit table says the Pro plan's 8,000 credits cover up to 1,600 model images at 1K — five credits each. 2K model images need the Max plan and 4K needs Ultra. The page we saw in India listed Pro at ₹299 a month (₹167 a month billed yearly) with 3,000 credits; Photoroom notes that credit amounts vary by country, and that GST is already included.
Where a saree is different
General on-model tools are built around one product in one photo. A saree breaks that. It is one long piece of cloth with a body, a pallu and a border, usually sold with a blouse piece that arrives as a separate photo — and the result has to show pleats at the waist and the pallu over the shoulder, in the right places, with your border running along the right edge.
- Which end is the pallu? A tool that cannot be told puts the pallu design in the pleats.
- How much of the body is one repeat of the print? Without it, the pattern stretches or repeats wrongly.
- Is the blouse the same fabric or a separate piece? It needs its own slot, cropped tight, or its border lands on the saree.
- Which marketplace is it for? Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho each want different poses, backgrounds and sizes.
If your problem is the background, a general editor is the right tool. If your problem is that nobody is wearing the saree, look at the specialist tools below.
6 Photoroom alternatives for fashion sellers
1. Vastralook — sarees and whole catalogues on models
Our own tool, so read this entry with that in mind. Vastralook has two studios. Drape Studio takes a flat photo of your saree, finds the cloth, and lets you set the pallu end, rotate the grain and mark how much of the body repeats before anything is generated — then adds your blouse fabric as a finished blouse. Catalogue Studio shoots every garment on every model in every style you pick, from 1,200+ ready-made packages.
Pricing: credits in rupees, from ₹250 for 200 credits. A 1K image is 20 credits — about ₹20–₹25 depending on the pack — and 4K is 2×. Generating yourself needs a plan (Starter is ₹1,099 a month for 50 images; Growth ₹1,999). Create order, where we make the shots, is open to everyone: 8 credits a 1K shot or 10 at 2K on a Standard order (about ₹8–₹10 and ₹10–₹13). Top-up credits never expire.
- Saree cut workspace: pallu line, grain and repeat lines you set yourself
- Team-delivered orders from 8 credits a shot
- Your logo on every shot; 50% of the credits back on a shot that missed
- Top-up credits never expire
- Not the cheapest per image — SareeViz and Photoroom's 1K models cost less
- Generating yourself needs a monthly plan
- Not a general photo editor: no background removal suite like Photoroom's
2. SareeViz — sarees and ethnic wear, pay per image
An Indian on-model tool built for sarees: the saree and its blouse piece go in as separate photos, and marketplace presets set the pose, background and size. Its pricing page lists 1K at ₹10, 2K at ₹15, 4K at ₹20 and 8K at ₹25 per image, plus 18% GST, from a ₹100 pack. Credits are valid for 90 days.
- Lowest rupee price per saree image in this list
- Up to 8K
- GST invoice, no subscription
- Credits expire 90 days after purchase
- No team-made orders listed on its pricing page
3. Photta — clothing and jewellery models, priced in rupees
An AI product photography app whose plans all include AI clothing and jewellery models, try-on, pose changer and ghost mannequins. Its page showed Hobby at ₹799 a month (₹666 billed yearly) for 30 product photos, and Seller at ₹1,649 (₹1,374 yearly) for 100. An AI-model image is 4 credits at 2K; 4K adds one. Plus applicable taxes.
- Rupee plans with free do-overs each month
- Jewellery models and ghost mannequins included
- A monthly commitment
- Not built around saree draping
4. FASHN — a broad fashion AI toolkit
Product-to-model, virtual try-on, model swap, packshots and short video in one app. Basic is $19 a month for 200 credits, Pro $49 for 750 plus 50 daily bonus credits, and every account starts with 10 free credits. Most tools cost 1 credit per output, more at higher resolutions, up to 4K.
- Widest set of fashion tools here
- Up to 4K; consistent faces
- US dollar subscription
- Subscriptions and top-ups are non-refundable
5. Botika — on-model photos with retouching
Turns phone, supplier or customer photos of clothing into on-model images, and includes retouch rounds: you flag an issue and their team fixes it. Pro is $55 a month, or $46 a month billed yearly, for 600 credits a year at 2K — one credit per photo, five per short video. 4K is on the higher tier.
- Human retouch rounds included
- Short videos from the same credits
- US dollar plans, best price yearly
- Pro is 2K
6. Pixelcut — if you only need Photoroom's editing
If what you actually use Photoroom for is cut-outs and clean backgrounds, Pixelcut is the closest swap: Pro is $10 a month or $8 billed yearly, with unlimited background removal and upscaling, 600 AI credits and 1,000 batch exports a month, and a free plan that exports without a watermark.
- Unlimited background removal on Pro
- Free exports without a watermark
- A general editor, not a saree or on-model tool

How to choose
- Start from the final photo
A product on a clean background? Stay with Photoroom or Pixelcut. A person wearing it? Compare the on-model tools.
- Check your garments
Sarees, lehengas and suits come in several pieces. Make sure the tool takes each piece in its own slot.
- Do the sum at your volume
Steady new stock suits a monthly plan; festival bursts suit packs. Check whether unused credits expire.
- Decide who does the work
If you have no time to operate a tool, look for team-made orders or retouch rounds.
- Test the same saree in two tools
Most have a free start. Your own fabric tells you more than any sample gallery.
What is the best Photoroom alternative for sarees?
For a saree worn by a model, a specialist on-model tool: Vastralook if you want control over the pallu and repeats or want our team to make the shots, SareeViz if the lowest price per image matters most. For clean product photos, Photoroom itself or Pixelcut.
Does Photoroom put clothes on models?
Yes. Photoroom's AI Fashion Models feature is on its paid plans; its credit table lists 1K model images on Pro, 2K from Max and 4K on Ultra. Where specialist tools differ is garments made of several pieces, like a saree with its blouse, and saree-specific drape control.
Which Photoroom alternatives price in rupees?
Vastralook, SareeViz and Photta all showed rupee prices on 1 October 2026. FASHN, Botika and Pixelcut showed US dollars. Photoroom itself showed rupees to us in India.
Can someone else make the photos for me?
Yes, on Vastralook: Create order has us make the shots: a Standard order is 8 credits a 1K shot or 10 at 2K (about ₹10–₹13 at 2K, depending on the pack), ready in about 3–4 minutes. Botika includes retouch rounds on its plans.
Disclosure: Vastralook is one of the tools compared. Every other tool's pricing and capabilities were taken from its public pages at the time of writing and may have changed since — check with the vendor before you decide.
