This is the least like-for-like comparison on this site, and that is the useful part. Fotor is not trying to be a fashion catalogue studio. It is a design suite — collages, posters, retouching, background removal, templates — that has added an AI fashion model generator to a very long list.
So the question is not which tool is better. It is whether you want one tool that does your fashion photography, or one subscription that does a hundred things of which fashion photography is one.
1. The two products side by side

| Pro | ₹3,499 / yr | 1,200 / year | 10 |

3. Annual credits behave differently
A monthly allowance forgives a bad month: overspend in October and November starts clean. An annual allowance does not. Fotor Pro's 1,200 credits are for the year, so a heavy festive drop can consume a disproportionate share of what is left.
Neither model is wrong. Annual suits steady, light use across many small tasks — a poster here, a background removed there — which is exactly what a design suite is for. Monthly suits work that arrives in bursts, which is what a catalogue drop is.
4. The watermark line matters more than it looks
Fotor's free tier exports are watermarked. That is a normal and defensible way to run a freemium design tool — but it means the free tier cannot be used to evaluate output quality on a real listing, only to see roughly what the tool does.
Vastralook does not watermark at any tier, free images included. A handful of images is a small allowance, but they come out clean and you can put them straight on a product page.
- On-model garment photography is the job, not one job among many.
- You want the shoot chosen from a curated library rather than assembled from templates.
- Your work arrives in bursts and a monthly allowance suits that better than an annual one.
- You need usable, unwatermarked output before you pay anything.
- You also need posters, collages, retouching and background removal from one subscription.
- Your fashion volume is a handful of images a year, alongside a lot of other design work.
- A hundred thousand general templates is worth more to you than 1,200 fashion packages.
- You already pay for Fotor and the fashion tool is a bonus rather than the reason.
5. What Fotor does that is worth acknowledging
- A genuinely enormous general toolkit — over a hundred editing tools and 100,000+ templates.
- A free tier that never expires, if you can live with the watermark.
- High concurrency on upper tiers, up to 50 simultaneous generations.
- One subscription covering design work that would otherwise need three products.
If your fashion photography is occasional and your design work is constant, Fotor is the better value and it is not close. We are the better buy only when the garments are the point.
Brand kit — your logo on every shot
Upload your logo once and set exactly where it sits — corner, size, opacity and padding — against a live preview. Every shot can then be downloaded with your branding already applied, at full resolution, so the file you hand to a marketplace or a reseller is already yours.
It is applied at download, not baked into the render, so the same shot can go out branded to one channel and clean to another without regenerating anything — and changing the logo later does not cost you a single credit.
Frequently asked
Does Fotor have an AI fashion model generator?
Yes — it is called Fashion Model AI and is listed on Fotor's pricing page. It sits alongside more than a hundred other editing tools rather than being the focus of the product.
Is Fotor cheaper than Vastralook for fashion images?
It cannot be answered honestly from published figures. Fotor lists credit allowances — 1,200 a year on Pro — but not how many credits one fashion-model image costs, so there is no per-image number to compare against our ₹20–22.
Does Fotor watermark its output?
On the free Basic tier, yes — exports are watermarked JPG, PNG and PDF. Paid tiers are watermark-free. Vastralook does not watermark at any tier, including free signup images.
Do Fotor credits reset every month?
On Pro and Pro+ the allowance is annual — 1,200 and 3,600 credits per year. Max is stated as 12,000 a year or 1,000 a month. Vastralook's plan credits refresh monthly, and pack credits never expire at all.
Which is better for an Indian ethnic-wear catalogue?
Vastralook, because that is what it is built for — 51 garment categories and 1,200+ packages covering sarees, lehengas and kurta sets. Fotor's fashion tool is general and carries no ethnic-wear-specific styling library.
