Snapdeal product photography rules are published in its own seller document: clothing images at least 1200 × 1600 px, 3:4, on a light neutral background, with at least five images in a set order. JioMart publishes no public image spec we could find, so check its Seller Hub before you upload.
Snapdeal product photography rules, from Snapdeal
Quality and framing
- Clearly visible, not pixelated or blurred, not distorted, not scanned, and reflecting the product and its colour as is. Snapdeal's list also says images should not be morphed.
- 100 KB to 10 MB per image.
- The product centred in the frame and filling at least 75% of it, with a margin of at least 20 px on all four sides where applicable.
- Models should wear minimal makeup and nothing overpowering.
- Product colour must not change between images because of lighting; a colour difference between image 1 and image 2 is a listed rejection.
Size, ratio and format
| Category | Minimum size | Aspect ratio (width/height) |
|---|---|---|
| Clothing: men, women, kids | 1200 px wide × 1600 px high | 0.75 |
| Footwear, fashion accessories, handbags, watches | 1105 px wide × 1300 px high | 0.85 |
For a single listing request the images must be .jpg. For bulk listing, .jpg or .jpeg is accepted, and the document also says TIFF and PNG are accepted. Image links should be shared from a paid version of a photo bucket, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar service.
Background and type of shoot
- Clothing: light and neutral backgrounds, named as cream, off-white, light grey and beige. The background should not overpower the product, and no border (white or any other colour) around an image that has a background.
- Fashion accessories need a white background.
- Mannequin photoshoots are not allowed for clothing. They are allowed for sports and fitness, kids, jewellery, fashion accessories, handbags and men's and women's watches.
- Ghost mannequin is accepted as an additional image, not the mandatory one, and only when the back fabric is not cropped.
- For top wear, the model's face should not be cropped. For ethnic wear (kurtis, kurta sets, sarees) the product should not be cropped.
- Folded views are not allowed (the document makes an exception for suiting, shirting and towels).
- Unwanted text, watermark, graphic or MRP on the image is not acceptable. Its common-rejection list also names colour variation, an unprofessional shoot, bad lighting, blur, stretching, cropping and a missing model or ghost-mannequin shoot.
How many images, and in what order
Snapdeal sets a minimum of 5 images for women's fashion, ethnic wear (shown with a kurti and a kurta example) and men's fashion, in this order:
- A close-up shot of the garment.
- A detail image focusing on the neck, back, sleeves and so on. At least two detail images (2nd and 3rd) are mandatory.
- A second detail image.
- A full look.
- A material shot: a close-up of the fabric.
A 6th image, the size chart in centimetres, is recommended for fashion categories where it applies. The document also sets rules for combo packs: for example, the main image shows all the products in the combo.
JioMart: what we could and could not confirm
We could not find a public JioMart page that states image rules for fashion: no pixel size, no file-size cap, no format list. The only source we read is Streamoid's JioMart seller guide, a software vendor's summary. For all categories it says a white or clean background, no watermarks or text, clear lighting, and the product filling 70-85% of the frame, with high resolution recommended (no number). For Fashion & Lifestyle it says model images are recommended, with front, back and detail shots, and accurate colour representation. None of this is a JioMart rule you can quote back to support.

Snapdeal and JioMart photos: a safe setup
- 3:4 portrait, 1200 × 1600 px or larger. It clears Snapdeal and suits a vertical fashion listing anywhere.
- A plain, light neutral background (off-white or light grey), centred, with a clear margin round the garment.
- The garment fully in frame. No cropped hem, and no cropped face on a top.
- The five-image sequence for Snapdeal: close-up, two details, full look, fabric.
- No text, MRP sticker, watermark or logo overlay.
- A real mannequin out of frame for clothing; a model or an on-model image instead.
- A JPEG, between 100 KB and 10 MB.
- For JioMart, check the Seller Hub's own catalogue guidelines before you upload a large batch.
How Vastralook's output maps to it
At 3:4, Catalogue Studio's 1K shot is about 896 × 1200 px, which is under Snapdeal's 1200 px width, and a 2K shot is about 1792 × 2400 px, which clears it. Choose 2K for Snapdeal. Each garment takes up to four of your own photos (front, back, side, detail), and a batch is garments × models × styles, so Snapdeal's five-image sequence is one garment on one model in several styles. Pick styles that give a close framing, a full-length frame and an angle that shows the neck or back, and use your own fabric photo as the last image, since a macro of the real cloth is the most honest material shot.
Pricing for the generated shots: about ₹40–₹50 per 2K image generated directly, or about ₹10–₹13 per 2K shot on a Create order, ready in about 3–4 minutes.
What image size does Snapdeal need for clothing?
Snapdeal's own image guideline PDF says at least 1200 pixels wide by 1600 high, with a width-to-height ratio of 0.75, so 3:4 portrait.
What background does Snapdeal want for clothing?
Light and neutral: Snapdeal names cream, off-white, light grey and beige. Fashion accessories need white.
How many images does a Snapdeal fashion listing need?
At least 5, in a set order for women's, ethnic and men's wear: close-up, two details, full look, fabric close-up. A size chart in centimetres is the recommended sixth.
Does Snapdeal allow mannequin photos for clothing?
No. Mannequin shoots are not allowed for clothing. Ghost mannequin is accepted only as an additional image, with the back fabric visible.
What image size does JioMart need?
We found no public JioMart page that states one. A vendor guide says white or clean background and the product filling 70-85% of the frame, with no pixel size. Check the Seller Hub.
