A saree photo is one long piece of cloth, but a finished saree is several things at once: pleats, body, border and pallu. The AI Cut & Detection Workspace in Drape Studio is where you tell it which part of your photo is which. The pallu line is the single most useful thing to set there.
What the pallu line does
It is a line you place across the photo where the pallu begins. You also say whether the pallu is at the top or the bottom of the photo. From that, the studio knows which part of the design belongs on the shoulder and hanging at the back, and which part belongs in the body and pleats.
Set it in five checks
- Upload the full saree photo
Add it to Saree with Pallu Fabric. Use your original product photo, never an earlier AI image.
- Fix the corners
The studio finds the cloth's edges for you. If the outline misses the fabric, drag the corners and use the loupe to place them exactly.
- Straighten the weave
Use Rotate or Fine Angle Nudge so the weave runs straight. If the photo is sideways, turn it a quarter.
- Place the pallu line and pick top or bottom
Put the line where the pallu starts, then tell the studio which end of the photo the pallu is at.
- Add repeat lines if the body pattern repeats
These tell the AI how much of the cloth is one repeat.
Three mistakes that ruin a drape
- Skipping the pallu line, so the pallu design lands on the pleats.
- Cropping the blouse photo loosely, so it also shows the saree and the AI copies both.
- Uploading every photo you have. Five photos of the same print give five overlapping instructions. Use one fabric photo plus only the parts that are different.
What is the pallu line?
A line you place on your saree photo where the pallu begins, so the studio knows which part of the design belongs on the pallu and which on the pleats.
Will the pleats match the preview exactly?
Not always. The final photo drapes naturally, so the exact pleat count can differ from the preview.
What if the pallu comes out on the wrong side?
Check that you chose top or bottom correctly for the pallu in your photo, then re-run the shot.
Do I need repeat lines on every saree?
Only if the body pattern repeats. They tell the AI how much of the cloth is one repeat.
