Plus size AI model photos in India start with choosing a model in the Models tab, which has a Body type filter. The library data we hold labels models slim or average only, so check what your live filter returns. Then judge each photo for drape, scale and colour, and never treat it as proof of fit.
Our post on size-inclusive models covers why showing more body types matters to sellers. This post does something different. It explains how the choice works in the app, what we could and could not confirm about the library, and how to judge a plus-size AI photo before it goes live.
How plus size AI model photos are chosen
In Catalogue Studio, the Models tab lets you filter the library by region, age, skin tone and body type. You pick a model, and the garment is placed on that person. Each model in the library has one fixed body type label. The body type is part of the model, so you choose it by choosing the model, not by describing a size in words.
What the library actually holds
We read the database set-up and seed data in the project on 15 October 2026. The body type list the app can store is slim, average, athletic, curvy, plus-size, petite and tall. In the seed model data we hold, every model is labelled either slim or average. We could not confirm from the code that any model carries the curvy or plus-size label.
| Body type label | In the app's list | In the seed models we hold |
|---|---|---|
| slim | Yes | Yes (59 models) |
| average | Yes | Yes (18 models) |
| athletic | Yes | None found |
| curvy | Yes | None found |
| plus-size | Yes | None found |
| petite | Yes | None found |
| tall | Yes | None found |
What to check on a plus size AI model photo
- Does the garment look the right size for the body, or has it been stretched or shrunk to fit?
- Is the print, border and embroidery at the same scale as on your real garment?
- Does the fabric fall the way yours does: is there tension where the real cloth would pull, and folds where it would gather?
- For a saree, are the pleats, pallu length and blouse where they should be on that body?
- Are the seams, hem and neckline in the right place, and the sleeve length correct?
- Do hands, face and skin look natural, with no extra fingers or smoothing that looks plastic?
- Is the colour the same as the real garment in daylight?
If a picture fails any of these, use Recreate or change the pose rather than publishing it. Looking at the photo next to the real garment, laid flat, catches most mistakes.
Be honest about fit
- The AI does not read your size chart. A plus-size model does not mean the garment comes in that size.
- Do not put a model photo next to a size claim you cannot support. If the photo shows a model who would wear a size you do not stock, a buyer will believe it.
- Put your size chart and the model's approximate size in the listing. The photo shows the look; the chart carries the fit.
- Keep a real photo of the garment, laid flat or on a hanger, with a measuring tape or a measurement list if you can.
Using two body types in one listing
If the library holds a model of the body type you want, you can make the same garment on two different models and show both in the gallery. Run each as its own shot and compare them with the real garment. Because each model is a separate person, expect small differences in how the cloth falls, and check each photo on its own rather than assuming one matches the other.
Cost
A Create order costs ₹8–₹10 per 1K shot, usually ready in 3–4 minutes. A shot you generate yourself costs ₹20–₹25 at 1K. A second body type for the same garment is a second shot at the same price, so the sensible test is one garment, two models, and a look at the result before you commit a collection. New accounts get up to 4 free 2K images on a Create order.
Does Vastralook have plus-size AI models?
The app has a Body type filter, and its list of body types includes curvy and plus-size. The seed model data we hold labels models slim or average only, so we cannot confirm plus-size models from the code. Open the filter in Catalogue Studio to see what your library returns.
Can I type a size, such as XXL, to get a model in that size?
Body type belongs to the model you pick. We found no setting in the app that turns a size such as XXL into a body shape, so choose from the models shown.
Is an AI photo proof that the garment will fit?
No. It shows how the garment looks on that model. Your size chart and real measurements carry the fit.
How should I label a model photo in the listing?
Say which size the model represents and show your size chart. Check your marketplace's current rules on AI-generated images.
Can AI show a saree or lehenga on a plus-size body?
It can try, but sarees and lehengas are the hardest to judge. Check the pleats, pallu length and waistline against your real garment, and use Recreate or another pose if anything looks stretched or shrunk.
How do I make plus size AI model photos look natural?
Choose a model whose body type matches what you want to show, use a clear garment photo, and check hands, skin and fabric tension. Compare each result with the real garment before you publish.
Should I show plus size and standard models in one listing?
If your library has models of both body types, showing both helps buyers judge fit. Make each as its own shot and check each one separately.
